Lancaster City Council is currently seeking a talented Development Officer to join our ICT Development Team.

The Development Team focus on the design and delivery of new technology to all areas of the organisation. Working closely with project management, ICT security, solutions architects and the Operations team you will be developing high quality software and business solutions for use throughout the organisation.

The Development Team take the lead on IT infrastructure as well as the delivery of effective software solutions. You will be involved in configuring and developing internal systems to ensure usability, integrity and security of the Council’s systems in a modern, agile environment.

You will have the opportunity to become an expert in multiple technical subject areas and an invaluable resource to any project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded and keen individual with a background of working in a Development environment looking for their next position.

The successful candidate must be able to evidence the requirements laid out in the Person Specification.

The normal working week are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of this work some out of hours and weekend working will be required. The post is based at the Old Fire Station, Lancaster.

The Council currently operates a Flexible Working Hours Scheme.

The successful applicant will be subject to clearance to the Baseline Personnel Security Standard.
