Would you like an opportunity to work in an exciting and challenging role within the Public Sector?

Lancaster City Council are currently recruiting for two Admin Assistants within our Council Housing Department. You will provide essential administrative support to the department, dealing with customer queries and undertaking a range of case-working duties.

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment and for this reason, you will be expected to be flexible in line with the needs of the business, as the role may vary from day to day. A professional and confidential approach is always required, and strong communication and organisational skills are essential.

It is essential that the post holder is PC literate and fully competent in the use of Microsoft packages, particularly Outlook and Excel. It would be an advantage if the post holder had at least 2 years administrative experience.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this post are 37 hours per week working Monday to Friday. You will be based at Palatine Hall, but due to Covid-19 restrictions you may be required to work from home.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.

Earlier last year Lancaster City Council unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.

For further information or to apply for these roles, please Catherine Cunliffe, Income Manager on 01524 582368.

We are a Forces Friendly employer, and an Armed Forces Covenant committed organisation. We welcome applications from defence reserves and other members of our armed forces community.

Excellent benefits include: A Local Government Pension Scheme (the Council makes a 15.5% contribution). Discounted gym membership and discount on days out, activities and retail.

Interview date: Friday, 05 Febuary 2021
