The RMS Department has the responsibility for carrying out responsive and planned maintenance works for Tenanted and Void properties to Lancaster City Council’s housing and non-housing stock.
In order to improve service levels, meet performance targets and increase the working base, they are recruiting for 1 Floorer/Tiler.
The successful candidate will demonstrate good working skills and techniques with an ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision. They will ensure their work continues to meet the current high levels of customer satisfaction.
They will also, with an understanding and experience of working with the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensure safe-working practices are applied.
A full current UK driving licence is essential for this post, as you will be required to work a transient role around the district, as there is a need to travel between locations and travel within the Councils designated area.
This post is 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, and Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm), however you are required for operational purposes to work 39 hours per week; as this is in excess of the standard 37 hour week, you will accrue 1 days leave for every 20 days worked.
All employees will need to be flexible as you will be allocated works according to the volume of demand in each work stream.
Earlier this year Lancaster City Council unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.
