Revenues Officer (NNDR) - Preston City Council
Due to the needs of the Shared Service, an opportunity has arisen to recruit to a Revenues Officer post in the Business Rate team, based at Lancaster, on a permanent basis.
This is a high performing team, whose responsibility for the collection of income promptly and efficiently has become crucial to the Council, given the impact of Government funding arrangements.
Duties include:
- Dealing with business customers, by phone, correspondence and in person in relation to the administration, billing and collection of Business Rates.
- Work as part of a team administering recovery procedures and attend Magistrates Court as required.
- Deal with information from other sources affecting liability, verify and process relief applications and maintain an online computerised system.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who can manage their own workload, to join this small but successful team. Good communication and numerical skills together with a customer care attitude are considered a necessity for this post.
