The Role

Lancaster City Council is looking to recruit a Tenant Move Officer to join the busy Choice Based Lettings team within Council Housing Services.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a knowledge of social housing who can promote mutual exchanges to tenants within the Lancaster district and support tenants looking to downsize.

Your duties will include maintaining the online mutual exchange system and identifying tenants who are looking to move and providing advice, support, and assistance to them.

To excel in this position, you will need to have excellent organisational skills as well as a high level of ICT literacy. You will need experience of using excel and other databases and the ability to use social media as a marketing tool. You will need the ability to work under pressure to deadlines and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

You will need to demonstrate a real commitment to providing excellent customer care with a proactive approach to problem solving.

The successful applicant will be subject to a basic clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 18.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday with specific days and hours to be agreed with the successful postholder. The post has a hybrid approach to work with the successful postholder able to work from home, Lancaster Town Hall in Lancaster, and other council workplaces.

The Council currently operates a Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post dependent on the operational needs of the service. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
