Engineer
The Role
Lancaster City Council’s multi award winning engineering team are looking for an Engineer to join this exciting team. Working on public realm and related highway projects and undertaking coastal and drainage work whilst also helping build general capacity within the Engineering team to manage the service portfolio of assets.
There are a number of exciting large-scale projects in development, including the commercial regeneration in the Morecambe Bay/Heysham Gateway, the Eden Project Morecambe, regeneration of Morecambe Town Centre, exciting plans for the regeneration of Lancasters Canal Quarter and coastal and flood defence projects.
As an Engineer you will have experience of contract design, preparation, administration and site supervision, as well as general experience of project co-ordination and financial budget control. You will also be proficient in the use of AutoCAD drawing. A degree or postgraduate qualification in an Engineering discipline would be an advantage.
A full current UK driving licence is essential. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, and occasional evening or weekend work may be required. This role is based at Morecambe Town Hall with hybrid working available.
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
