Administrator (Changing Futures)
The Changing Futures programme is a £64 million joint initiative by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. The fund is for local organisations to work in partnership to better support those who experience multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system.
Lancaster City Council is pleased to offer a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to provide wide ranging administrative and secretarial support to the programme including; initially dealing with enquiries, receiving referrals, managing correspondence, e-mail, database and records maintenance, organising and administering meetings, co-ordinating diaries and liaising with staff, volunteers and external bodies.
You will fulfil data inputting and administrative duties for the programme and work cross-functionally with other Administrators to ensure the smooth running of the service and to manage the day-to-day administration for the project in relation to Health & Safety. You will also promote awareness of the Changing Futures Programme with statutory, third sector and private agencies.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative and have excellent organisation and time management skills, along with excellent administration and IT skills linked to Word 2000 software. They will also have experience of working in an office environment, data management and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicating with vulnerable service users and service provider partners, both face-face and over the telephone.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to travel to and from different locations. Reasonable adjustments can be made for those who are unable to drive due to a disability. As a result, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
This post is temporary for 23 months. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, working 5 days out of 7, including evenings when required. Due to COVID restrictions, this post is currently required to work from home, and equipment will be supplied accordingly. However, when restriction measures are relaxed in the foreseeable future, the post holder will be required to work from Lancaster City Council Premises.
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
For internal applicants, this role will be considered for a secondment opportunity. When this role comes to an end, the successful internal applicant will return to their substantive role. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to.
